A little feedback from editors really does go a long way. I don't submit to big publications very often. But, recently I submitted a piece for a pub that I have been in several times before.

They rejected it, but wrote a simple one sentence explanation. I didn't 100% agree with their reasons, but at least it gave me an insight into what they wanted.

I published that piece in my own pub, but am working on another one for the publication with the feedback in mind. If I hadn't heard anything from an editor, I probably wouldn't be trying to submit again.
