I have a lot of contacts from my freelance writing career. (I'm still freelance writing, but I'm trying to broaden my income streams.) I reached out to marketing directors, social media managers, and content managers I'd worked with before as a writer and pitched them some ideas for illustrations. I got a few bites and sold some images they used as stock illustrations for social media posts. I technically licensed them the rights to use my illustrations royalty free, so that I could license the same images to other companies

Next, I was going to set up a dedicated website for my own custom and stock illustrations and cold email other marketing professionals while leveraging my limited successes. However, I had some health issues and family issues that needed my urgent attention.

I'm going to work on building this business out more fully in 2022.
