I’m glad I gave you hope. That’s something I needed a lot of when I was first starting out. Finding clients is a numbers game. When I was starting out I landed about 1% of the gigs I was trying for. I got clients through sheer force of numbers. I eventually took the time to learn how to send effective cold emails and inquiries. But, it still takes a lot of emails to land a gig. There is a lot of work out there, you just have to send out enough inquiries. I used, and still use, a mix of cold emails, job boards, and freelance platforms to get work. I also sent out direct response mail. I sent out physical letters to potential clients. I got my first 4-figure gig that way. Good luck! you can do it! It gets better. Once you have a few clients you can get new work form them and from referrals.
