Why Leadership Matters for Your One-Person Business

The two biggest reasons I work for myself are:

1. I don’t like having a boss

2. I don’t like being a boss

While I do outsource a few things, I never want to have employees ever again. It’s too much stress, it limits my flexibility, and I’m a horrible manager.

Being a solopreneur suits my personality and my lifestyle. But, just because I work for myself doesn’t mean I don’t have a boss.

If you are your own boss, then you also need to develop some leadership skills. Otherwise, your business will devolve into chaos.

The obvious answer is that you are leading yourself. But, you actually need to be a leader to more than just yourself.
