You don't have to write any code. Most of the time I first write the flowchart of the conversation and get client approval. Once that part is done, I write the words the chatbot will send in each situation, including when it is "confused". The client has a team of engineers that take care of the coding.

Sometimes, clients already have the dialogue flow and just hire me to write the words fro each part of the flow.
